Ryle’s Tubes are used for naso-gastric nutrition, or for aspiration of stomach/ intestinal
secretions. They are marked at intervals from tip for accurate placement and have a
smooth, low friction surface with an X-ray opaque line throughout the length of tube
and a universal fit funnel connector at the proximal end. Weighted tubes also have
stainless steel balls sealed into the distal end to assist passage of the tube, plus four
lateral eyes for efficient aspiration and administration.
