Milestone

“ACMEC Industries”, founded by Mr. O.P. Sharma in the year 1972. ACMEC was a pioneer Indian company mfg. “metal rivets” used in railway coach building and aircrafts manufacturing. Each five letters of the name “ACMEC” represented five specialized branches of engineering in India at that time namely: Agriculture, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical and Civil Engineering.

1972

O. P. Sharma diversified into Medical Devices manufacturing with founding of Mecca Industries.

1977

Co-Founder and current Chairman of Mecca Group Mr. N. P. Sharma nephew of Mr. O.P. Sharma joined the organization and rapidly expanded the company into contract manufacturing for prominent pharmaceutical companies of India.

1986

Mecca became one of the first few companies in India to have installed in-house facility for ETO sterilization at its Kalol (N.G.) Gujarat, India plant.

1986

Mecca installed in-house facility for medical grade PVC Tube extrusion, as well as initiated in-house plastics injection molding of medical parts of Infusion Devices at its Kalol (N.G.) Gujarat and Chhattral, Gujarat plants.

1987

Mecca became one of the first few factories in Gujarat state to be accredited with a Drugs manufacturing license from the FDCA Department, Govt. of Gujarat, India, as per the provisions of Drugs & Cosmetics Act 1940 and Mecca became an approved channel partner for M/s Core Healthcare Ltd a leading company in the world at that time for IV Fluids Manufacturing.

1990

Mecca began exporting to South East Asia and East African nations markets.

1991

Mecca became an approved channel partner for M/s Iveon Laboratories later acquired by M/s Fresenius Kabi India Pvt. Ltd. Till date Mecca supplies to M/s Fresenius Kabi India Pvt. Ltd products meant for exports to Europe, Latin America, Africa and Middle Eastern Countries and Mecca supplied Infusion Equipment to M/s Cipla Ltd.

1995

Mecca was accredited with a WHO-GMP Certificate from the FDCA Department, Govt. of Gujarat, India.

1996

Mecca expanded its products portfolio of medical devices and began manufacturing of Syringes, Urine Bags and Catheters

1997

Mecca forayed into annual rate contract manufacturing for state government of Gujarat for supply of Infusion Sets.

2000

Mecca became an approved manufacturer for state government supplies of Maharashtra, India on an annual rate contract basis.

2002

By the mid of 2000s Mecca became one of the leading suppliers of Infusion Equipments to leading I.V. Fluids manufacturer on a loan licence basis namely Eastern Medikit Ltd, Sutures India Pvt. Ltd., Cipla Ltd, Albert David Ltd., Claris Lifesciences Ltd., Wockhardt Ltd, Intas Pharmaceuticals, Torrent Pharmaceuticals.

2005

Mecca was accredited with a European CE Marking Certificate from DNV Norway (0424) as per directive of 93/42/EEC.

2006

Mecca expanded its production capacity and by setting up a new state of the art manufacturing plant at Boranada Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India.

2008

Mecca began supplying medical devices and components to M/s BBraun India Pvt. Ltd.

 
2011

Mecca became a leading supplier to government supplies in India holding annual rate contracts with state governments of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa and Bihar.

2015

Mecca gained manufacturing licence number MFG/MD/2019/000192, under new rules of MDR 2017, Department of CDSCO Government of India for 40 products covering specialized segments of patient care in cardiology, cardio-thoracic surgery, anaestheisa, gastro-enterology, general surgery, urology and gynaecology.

Mecca is accredited with a European CE Marking Certificate from TUV SUD (0123) as per directive of 93/42/EEC.
